Interview over now you have come to the stage of Monday morning. There’s nothing more daunting & nervous than planning your first day in your new local job. As well as pre-planning your dress code – don’t forget to browse the internet and obtain additional information on the local employer. Establish who your fellow working directors, mangers, & colleagues maybe, so you can hit the ground running.
Enthusiasm:
Portray that winning side of you, positive and raring to go. Nice firm handshake or gesture to your superior in charge. If you’re the senior introduce yourself, relay your original ideas to the MD and arrange a short meeting with staff.
Proactive
As indicated a spilt moment ago – no negativity – just pure positive mental attitude. Irrelevant of your job status you can familiarise yourself by communicating, contribution and meticulous. Simple features will win you the trust of your fellow colleagues.
Assurances
In the interview – if you promised you can deliver “X,Y & Z“ : think long and hard .Start as you mean to carry on and do not bite more than you can chew. Make sure you do not make false promises you cannot keep just to save your job (very unprofessional)
Respect
May sound “old fashioned” but it’s a tip that works 101% the more you respect your superiors/elders, etc…the more you will achieve within this new local employer. Identify the key players and try to emulate them to obtain your recognition.
Spiteful
Do not participate in gossip no matter how widespread it maybe. It’s your first day in the new job for this prestigious local west midlands employer, don’t mess it up by stating incorrect information. Just carry on with your relevant duties.
